About Us

Sunny Spaces Organizing was founded in 2020, born out of a passion for organization and helping others. Founder, Erika Maddamma, knew that so many people were living lives of chaos and believed she could bring the calm they were looking for.
 

Erika conceptualized this business plan while taking Entrepreneurship classes at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. She thought she invented the services of organizing people’s belongings! It took having her first son, Kaleb, that she knew she could make a difference, helping people achieve home organization.

After having her son, she realized other first-time moms were having a serious struggle with where to store and how to organize all the baby items that now littered the entire first floor of their home. How to keep up with laundry, sanitizing bottles and determining which toys should be accessible. For Erika, this was not a struggle. It was innate to her what to keep out, how to store things, and keeping up with it all wasn’t a problem. This was her ah-ha moment that the
business needed to be started – people needed her service!

 

In 2021, pregnant with her second son, Jaxson, she built up her team to service more families across a greater reach of Pittsburgh. With a team in place, Sunny Spaces was able to expand from home organization to also offer business and office organization as well.
 

Since its inception, Sunny Spaces has served over 550 families and businesses in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Expanding services from home and office organization (link) to packing & unpacking (LINK), helping families during their stressful times of transition.

In 2024, Sunny Spaces expanded back to its founder’s roots, creating a branch in New England. We are excited to not only serve Greater Pittsburgh’s home organizing needs, but also that of Central Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
 

In her years as a professional organizer, she’s noticed how much our stuff really holds us back from living our authentic lives. “Our client’s biggest problem isn’t storage”, Erika says, “but the overabundance and accumulation of items we fear parting with that holds our client’s back from living their biggest lives”, which is why she began offering decluttering services.
 

At Sunny Spaces we believe that life is meant to be lived fully. That the joys should be found as much on a Tuesday as they are a Saturday. We don’t want you to feel held back by your things or having to constantly maintain your home. We don’t want you living for the weekends. We can help you manage and achieve this through our coach program.
 

Our mission is to help you live with the right amount of things for your family and your house. To learn how to set physical boundaries and stick with them. To start living a life of true bliss, without worry if you have the right “stuff” for the journey.
